To support other companies on their security journey, we are open sourcing our custom compliance template.
Since the very beginning, Airtable has recognized that security must always be a top priority as we work to empower anyone to create software. As we’ve grown to support more and more mission-critical workflows for companies of all sizes, we are pleased to announce that we’ve formalized our commitment to user security by obtaining two of the industry’s most important compliance certifications: Service Organization Controls (SOC 2 Type II) and ISO 27001.
Both SOC 2 and ISO27001 are carried out by reputable, independent organizations that attest to a product’s level of security. These certifications, which recognize processes, policies, and technologies that are designed to keep people’s data secure, are intentionally comprehensive and lengthy. Since completing the SOC 2 can take some teams as long as 6 months and ISO anywhere between 12 and 18 months, we designed an Airtable base to track all the components and manage the process from end-to-end.
This got us thinking: how could this base help our community? So in the interest of supporting other companies, we’re making our custom compliance template freely available to be modified and redistributed. This versatile compliance management system is currently set up to manage the process of achieving SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, but you can extend and adjust it to accommodate any security policies you have or certification you might hope to pursue.
This compliance template features dashboards to track progress throughout the audit journey, checklists to manage the evidence gathering process for each certification, and more.
