The features unveiled today at Airspace London unlock a new level of human and agent collaboration for your business. An upgraded Omni, Airtable Canvas, a supercharged MCP, and calibrated agent permissions means people and agents can work side by side with unparalleled context within the limits you require: build together, run together—and stay in control.

“You’re right, that was a mistake—and that’s on me.”

It’s an agentic refrain that you’re sure to recognize, but why is it still so hard to reconcile the intelligence of today’s agents with the sub-par output we so often encounter? Agents make mistakes—or just make things up—when the information provided is incomplete, outdated, or siloed. Agentic workflows can be more hindrance than help if your business is not agent ready.

Today, Airtable has released a set of new capabilities that bridges that gap with the governed context your agent needs. Agents can now work from complete, structured, and live data, while you retain full control over what they can access and a record of what they did.

Airtable is already the shared system of record across your business: from today, harness the full potential of agentic workflows by sharing it with them.

New Releases:

  • Omni 2.0: Airtable’s first-party agent, now faster, smarter and better at building than ever
  • Airtable Canvas (open beta coming this week): build custom apps, dashboards, and presentations on your live data
  • An upgraded MCP: more power, more connections (including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Cursor, with Copilot and Muse coming soon)
  • Agent audit logs: full visibility into what agents do on your bases

Coming soon:

  • Agent permissions: control exactly what agents can read and write
  • Bring your own agent and key: put your company’s own agents to work in Airtable

Build together with Omni 2.0 and Airtable Canvas

Airtable's first-party agent is receiving a major upgrade. Omni 2.0 is now smarter, faster, and can handle far greater jobs. Bring the files your organization runs on—spreadsheets, images, PDFs, however they’re stored—and Omni builds the data model, imports your data, and configures automations and AI fields in one pass while you watch. The upgraded Omni can:

  • Import your messy data, no matter the file type
  • Set up Field Agents that summarize, classify, or enrich records
  • Configure complex automations from plain language
  • Write scripts, and include them in your automations, where no built-in action exists
  • Model your business with tables, fields, and linked records

An upgraded Omni is now generally available on all plans: open it from any base to get started.

With Airtable Canvas, you can create custom apps, dashboards, and presentations in minutes. Simply describe what you want in plain language, and Canvas designs and builds it—no design or coding know-how required. Airtable Canvas uses your brand theme and design preferences, so what you build looks unmistakably yours.

Airtable Canvas runs on your base, and is grounded in your company's context and data layer. Before adding tables or fields to your base, it proposes a plan and asks for your sign-off. With your data already being governed within Airtable, you can create a custom UI built upon a shared system of record, with every number tracing back to your source of truth.

Airtable Canvas allows varied visualizations of the same data. One base can act as your foundation for an app for the whole working team, a dashboard for the CMO, a Monday-morning one-pager, and a weekly deck that updates itself. Airtable Canvas will be moving to an open beta this week—you can join the waitlist here.

Run together with Airtable MCP

We’re all using external agents for business work, and we each have our favorite tool: Airtable’s MCP provides seamless integration no matter your preference. Launched earlier this year, MCP now connects to even more agents, including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Amazon Quick, and Cursor (with Copilot and Muse coming soon). With Airtable MCP your connected tools can read and write records, submit forms, build automations and interfaces.

  • MCP functionality lets you build in your base directly from your preferred AI tool. No need to break your flow by switching between tools—interact with your base without leaving your AI session.
  • Admins stay in control. Turn MCP on or off across your organization, approve which AI tools people can use, and limit each AI tool to the bases it needs.

Airtable’s MCP is open to all customers. Just choose a base and an AI tool to get started.

Coming soon

Airtable’s Bring Your Own Agent functionality. Many large organizations have set up their own autonomous agents. Soon, you’ll be able to bring yours to Airtable—an agent already grounded in your organization’s context, and ready to work on your bases. Have it both ways: free choice of agents and precise control over their permissions and activity.

Stay in control with agent permissions & audit log

The more agents working in your bases, the more important it is to see exactly what they did and when. With our latest release, agent audit logs are generally available for all account admins—with agent permissions coming soon.

  • Actor attribution: New shared audit logs tell you whether a person or agent took the action, and in which base. Omni’s actions are attributed directly. Actions from third-party AI tools trace back to the integration that made them and the person who set it up.
  • New events for agent activity: Audits previously logged activity outside of the base itself—provisioning users, changing licenses, and granting admin rights. Agents do their work inside bases— the log now records events like creating a table, updating an interface page, and deleting a comment. Agent activity events are rolling out now on Enterprise plans.
  • Filtering and export: Narrow the log by actor, base, event type, org unit, and date to answer a specific question quickly. Export to CSV or JSON, or stream events through the audit API into the security monitoring tools your team uses.

Audit logs show you what agents did. With agent permissions coming soon, you’ll soon be able to decide what they can reach in the first place.

Coming soon:

Granular agent permissions. Agents work with the data directly, so they need permissions that apply to the data itself. Just as you choose what view each person in your business is granted, with agent permissions you can choose what data an agent can read or write—right down to the field or record. Set your AI tool to work on customer feedback data without ever letting it read customer contact info. And agents never get more access than the person who connected them. With agent permissions in place, the use cases you’ve piloted are ready to roll out across your whole organization.
