Builders, meet your new AI assistant
Your own personal app builder, data analyst, and web researcher is ready and waiting for you. All you have to do is ask.
Today, we’re releasing Airtable Assistant in beta alongside new capabilities that drastically change what it means to build apps in Airtable. Airtable is now the fastest and easiest way to build and modify apps, create fields, automations, and interfaces, and answer any business question using natural language.
The biggest leap forward in Airtable’s mission
Twelve years ago, we started Airtable with the mission to democratize software creation. Since then, builders have created apps that transform global supply chains, revolutionize entertainment production, accelerate breakthrough medical research, and coordinate multinational marketing campaigns. But this is just the beginning. Today represents the biggest leap forward in our mission to-date.
Today’s announcement doubles down on one of our core philosophies: we believe that you, the builders, must be the ones to lead the AI transformation. You’re the ones who are closest to your data, and you know your workflows back to front. You’re best positioned to rapidly deploy and iterate apps and AI in meaningful ways.
There's never been a more exciting time to be a builder. Airtable customer Korin Thorig, Vice President of Creative Operations at West Elm said, "We can be the innovators who create the foundation for the rest of the company to go into the next era."
Introducing Airtable Assistant
Meet Airtable Assistant, your new conversational AI collaborator that transforms how you build and interact with Airtable.
With Airtable Assistant, you can:
Build and modify Airtable apps: Turn your ideas into working apps simply by asking. Use Airtable Assistant to create and modify fields, views, and automations by describing what you need. No code, no drag and drop, no point and click.
Get expert advice: Ask and answer any question of your data, and connect the dots within your base. Ask Airtable Assistant questions about the state of your business—which assets have performed best in past campaigns, or trending themes in customer feedback, for example. Airtable Assistant will analyze your data and deliver a comprehensive overview of what’s happening, along with recommendations for what to do next.

New ways to deploy AI at scale
Today’s launch also includes features that enable any builder to deploy AI fields and automations that work on your behalf—instantly, continuously, and at scale across your entire Airtable base.
These new capabilities allow you to automate what would've been human intensive web research or document analysis, upleveling every workflow across your org.
AI document analysis (GA): Deploy specialized AI analysts at scale to process thousands of documents. Now you have the power to instantly scan tens of thousands of pages to identify and extract text—and transform that text into structured data. From there, you can use automations to put document data to work.
AI web search (GA): Deploy always-on web researchers that enrich your data with the latest updates in real time. Say goodbye to tedious research and manual data inputs with a thousand researchers in a single Airtable base. Your teams can delegate hours of research time for competitive insights, industry news, customer activity, and market shifts.

Builders will lead the AI era
We are at the precipice of massive transformation. Companies like Klarna are seeing 90% of employees now harnessing the power of generative AI in their daily work. Initiatives like these lead to up to 30% gains in productivity, speed, and revenue, and 50% acceleration in time-to-market for products and services.
Business disruption is only going to accelerate as models get faster, smarter, and cheaper to run. The latest releases are able to reason in human-like ways; AI has moved far beyond regurgitating information to thinking on its own.
Despite all this potential, real business AI adoption remains low. Only 6% of US companies report using AI for regular production today. As Goldman Sachs noted recently, "So far, any aggregate productivity uplift from generative AI has been extremely limited, mostly because very few companies have adopted the technology."
This chasm between what AI can do in theory, versus what it’s achieving in practice, is due to a failure in implementation. Typically, enterprise AI applications are either:
Top-down initiatives that are slow, expensive, and disconnected from daily operations
Universal chabot-style tools that lack necessary business context and that fill to scale
What’s been missing from the exploding AI landscape is a solution that puts you, the builder, in the driver’s seat. Builders, your moment of maximum leverage is now. Let’s build the future together.
