Company expands global operations to support growing demand for its connected apps platform

Airtable, the connected apps platform that enables teams to modernize their business processes, today announced its expansion to Europe, Middle East, and Africa with the opening of its first international headquarters in London. With plans to hire nearly 70 people across sales and support functions by the end of 2022, the expansion will enable more people around the world to create applications for their teams that previously required deep technical skill or significant IT investment.

Airtable is seeing growing global demand, with 60% of new registrations coming from outside the U.S. Although this is the first time the company is hiring dedicated teams in the region, Airtable has already gained significant traction across EMEA. Today more than a quarter of people using Airtable are based in EMEA, including at companies like Monzo, LVMH, and Red Bull, which rely on the company’s low-code tools to power critical workflows.

Airtable is also announcing the appointment of Tony Cheema as Vice President, EMEA. Cheema is based in the UK and has spent nearly two decades in customer engagement and leadership roles at Oracle, Box and Datadog. His deep experience leading global sales teams will support Airtable’s rapid expansion and better serve customers across EMEA.

“Building a large presence in London allows us to deepen relationships with our EMEA-based customers and join London’s thriving tech community,” said Cheema. “The UK is not only our largest EMEA market and one of our fastest growing anywhere in the world, it has a rich community of talent where we look forward to growing in the years to come.”

Airtable continues to expand its enterprise sales, success, and support functions to fuel a growing number of large deployments. Today more than 80% of the Fortune 100 worldwide rely on Airtable’s technology, and the company’s customer base spans industries and includes Amazon, Baker Hughes, IBM, Netflix, Nike, Restoration Hardware, and Under Armour.

By 2023, Gartner estimates the number of people developing software applications outside of IT at large enterprises will be at least four times the number of professional developers. The decentralization of software development is a fundamental shift to unlock the next wave of global technological and business innovation, and Airtable is building the foundational low-code platform to transform how software is created and used by businesses globally. Last year Airtable invested heavily in product innovation and introduced Interface Designer, the first complete application builder for enterprise. The new capabilities empower teams to design fully interactive front-end experiences on any workflow built in Airtable and to tailor apps specifically to how their teams operate.
