Today, Airtable is launching a customer beta program and expanding access to Airtable AI, the easiest and fastest way to deploy AI-powered applications for the enterprise. The beta program will include participation from leading global retail, services, technology, and media companies and will scale to thousands of organizations using Airtable later this summer. Beta customers will be able to experiment with and embed new AI capabilities in their data and workflows and provide valuable insights for Airtable’s roadmap, building on those the company gained during a limited alpha program and its own internal use of Airtable AI.

Integrating AI capabilities into Airtable’s next-generation platform enables organizations to embed AI across a wide range of critical business processes and power marketing campaigns, content production, product roadmaps, customer feedback, and other workflows, all in one place.

Launching initially with foundation models provided by OpenAI, Airtable AI will eventually offer customers the ability to choose from a variety of models that best fit their needs.

Addressing the AI Skills Gap 

While McKinsey estimates generative AI’s impact on productivity could add $2.6 to $4.4 trillion annually to the global economy, few organizations are in a position to realize AI’s potential value at scale. Airtable removes the guesswork by offering a library of pre-built components, templates, and prompts that make it easy for teams to experiment, develop, and strengthen their AI skills. Requiring no prior experience with AI or coding, Airtable AI enables the people closest to the work to develop engaging, generative-AI powered apps to help them execute work faster and more effectively.

Airtable AI supports a broad range of reasoning and creative work and allows teams to customize AI components and build engaging apps to power team specific use cases across marketing, product, HR, and other business functions. For example:

  • Marketers are under increasing pressure to produce better-performing marketing campaigns, often with smaller budgets and other resources. To succeed, marketing departments must increase agility and redesign how they work. Generative AI is poised to increase the marketing function’s productivity by between 5 and 15 percent of total marketing spending, according to the same McKinsey report. Airtable AI can serve as marketing teams’ creative partner, helping marketers explore more ideas and do better work, faster. From generating first drafts of creative briefs, to automating the revision process, to changing the tone or style of an entire campaign with one click, Airtable AI can accelerate nearly every step of a complex, cross-functional marketing workflow. Part of the magic of Airtable AI is that it leverages the data already in Airtable, so teams don’t need to waste time copying and pasting information from different tools.

  • Product development roadmaps often suffer when they’re disconnected from other functions' plans and customer insights. With Airtable AI, product functions can transform product operations and inject AI into roadmap planning and execution, from automatically tagging and categorizing large amounts of user research to ensuring new releases are automatically fed into release marketing plans. For example, Airtable’s own product team uses Airtable AI to generate potential FAQs and develop customer enablement resources based on new feature descriptions, providing better customer support.

  • Talent acquisition can be a manual and time intensive process for HR teams. With Airtable, HR teams can create an end-to-end recruiting app for the entire process, using Airtable AI to generate job descriptions; collect, auto-categorize, and summarize feedback from interviewers; automate communication with candidates; and develop offer letters based on internal and market data, including industry specific job descriptions and salary ranges.
