Airtable AI Terms
Last Updated: July 23, 2026
You can find the previous version of our AI Terms here.
These Airtable AI Terms (“AI Terms”) apply to your access to and use of Airtable AI (defined below). The AI Terms form a part of the agreement between you or your organization (collectively, “you” or “your”) and Formagrid Inc, dba Airtable (“Airtable”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), that governs your use of the Services, such as Airtable’s Terms of Service or a master subscription agreement between you and Airtable (your “Service Terms”). Capitalized terms used but not defined in these AI Terms have the meaning set forth for such term (or its substantive equivalent) in your Service Terms. As used in these AI Terms, “Customer Data” also means “Your Content” (or similar term) as used in your Service Terms, and the “Services” also means the “Airtable Products” (or similar term) as used in your Service Terms. In the event of a conflict between these AI Terms and your Service Terms relating to Airtable AI, these AI Terms will control.
1. Airtable AI
As used in these AI Terms, “Airtable AI” means the features and functionality of the Services made available to you that utilize generative artificial intelligence models. Airtable AI is powered by the third-party AI platform and model providers listed on this page, as updated from time to time (each a “Third-Party AI Provider”). Airtable AI forms part of the Services, and, except as otherwise stated in these AI Terms, all provisions of your Service Terms apply to your use of Airtable AI. You authorize us to enable Airtable AI for your workspaces upon agreeing to these AI Terms. You retain the ability, at all times and in your sole discretion, to disable Airtable AI via your admin panel or your Workspace settings.
2. Input and Output
You may provide or make available prompts, data, text, or other input to be processed by Airtable AI (“Input”) and receive images, materials, files, code, or other data generated and returned by Airtable AI based on the Input (“Output”). Input and Output are your Customer Data, and you retain all ownership rights in Input and Output.
3. Use Restrictions and Third-Party AI Provider Requirements
When you use Airtable AI, you will ensure, and you represent and warrant, that Input, your use of Airtable AI, and your use of Output, will not violate: (a) Airtable’s Acceptable Use Policy, as updated from time to time; or (b) the applicable Third-Party AI Provider terms and policies available on this page, as updated from time to time. Enterprise Scale and Business plan customers may opt out of the use of any Third-Party AI Provider at any time via the admin panel, and are only subject to the terms and policies applicable to the Third-Party AI Providers that are enabled in the admin panel.
4. Limitations
You acknowledge that due to the nature of machine learning and the technology powering Airtable AI, Output may not be unique, and Airtable AI may generate the same or similar output to you and a third party. You should not rely on factual assertions in Output without independently fact-checking their accuracy; Output that appears accurate because of its detail or specificity may still contain material inaccuracies. Airtable AI may not dynamically retrieve information, and Output may not account for events or changes to underlying facts occurring after the relevant model was trained. Output should be evaluated for accuracy and suitability for your use case, including by employing human review of the Output.
5. Customer Data Rights and Model Training
Your use of Airtable AI does not grant Airtable any right or license to use or share Customer Data in a manner that is inconsistent with your Service Terms. Airtable will not use, or permit the Third-Party AI Providers or others to use, Input, Output, or any other Customer Data to train generative artificial intelligence models.
6. Data Retention
For workspaces on the Enterprise Scale or Business plan: Third-Party AI Providers will not (a) log Input or Output for human review, or (b) save or retain Input or Output.* Third-Party AI Providers may retain and use metadata associated with Airtable AI usage solely for billing, safety, and compliance purposes.
For workspaces on the Free, Team, Pro, or Plus plan: Third-Party AI Providers may retain Input and Output for up to thirty (30) days for the purpose of safety and compliance moderation.* If Input or Output is confirmed through moderation to be prohibited (such as child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or other content that violates applicable law), such Input or Output may be retained for the duration necessary to comply with legal reporting obligations and regulatory requirements. In addition, Third-Party AI Providers may retain and use metadata associated with Airtable AI usage solely for billing, safety, and compliance purposes.
7. Privacy and Subprocessors
To the extent your Customer Data contains Personal Data (or similar term), you instruct Airtable and our subprocessors listed on this page to process such data in accordance with your Service Terms and any applicable data processing addendum (“DPA”) we have with you for the purposes of providing Airtable AI and Output to you. All provisions of your Service Terms or DPA, as applicable, apply to your use of Airtable AI.
You are solely responsible for providing notices and obtaining consents, to the extent legally required when using Airtable AI to process Customer Data containing Personal Data.
8. Supplemental AI Terms for Health Information
As used herein, “HIPAA” means the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, and “CMIA” means the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act. In addition to the other terms and conditions in these AI Terms, if you have an Enterprise Scale account with HIPAA/CMIA enabled, which is indicated as “HIPAA enabled” in your Enterprise Scale admin panel within the Services, then the Supplemental AI Terms for Health Information available here also apply. You shall review and comply with, and will ensure your Permitted Users comply with, the Supplemental AI Terms for Health Information, as updated from time to time, and as applicable to your use of the Services. You are responsible for informing Airtable which such accounts must be HIPAA/CMIA-enabled.
To the extent you have: (i) an Enterprise Scale account for which HIPAA/CMIA is not enabled, as indicated in your Enterprise Scale admin panel within the Services, and/or (ii) other Airtable accounts not on an Enterprise Scale plan, this Section does not apply to such accounts and you shall not provide Airtable with any ePHI or Medical Information through such accounts.
9. Suspension
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in your Service Terms, Airtable may suspend your access to any portion or all of Airtable AI if: (a) Airtable reasonably determines that your use of Airtable AI is in violation of these AI Terms or is prohibited by legislation, regulation, or other act of government; (b) a Third-Party AI Provider requires such suspension; or (c) a Third-Party AI Provider has suspended or terminated Airtable’s access to or use of services or products required to enable your access to Airtable AI. Airtable will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide you with advance notice of any such suspension.
10. Governance, Compliance, and Responsible AI Practices
Airtable maintains internal governance practices applicable to Airtable AI, including periodic evaluations and testing to assess the quality and reliability of AI-generated Output. Airtable will comply with all laws and regulations applicable to its integration and use of AI within the Services, including applicable laws and regulations regarding the responsible and ethical deployment of AI capabilities.
11. Modifications
Except for modifications required by law, modifications to these AI Terms will only become effective and applicable to you: (a) if they are made in accordance with your Service Terms; or (b) upon renewal of your subscription to the Services. Unless and until such modifications become effective and applicable to you, your use of Airtable AI will continue to be governed by the terms and conditions of these AI Terms as they were immediately prior to such modifications. When we make modifications to these AI Terms, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
